Cindy Rauser, Pastor
Pastor Cindy Rauser comes to Cimarron Praise United Methodist Church after serving three years as pastor to Fashing United Methodist Church. She currently lives in Bulverde, Texas where she played a vital role in planting a growing and vital new church community call Riverside Community Church. She and her husband have lead home based Bible studies and groups for many years. They felt the call to move from San Antonio to Bulverde for the purpose of starting a new church. The Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, their home church, would later join them in answering and fulfilling that call.
It was during this time of planting, Cindy realized God was calling her to serve the church in a more formal way as a pastor where she could share her passion for discipleship and building communities of faith.
Cindy graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Master of Ministry Practices in 2014. Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology from Texas A&M University and is a native Texan from the greater Lubbock area where she received her High School diploma at Roosevelt High School.
She has work in food safety and quality control for several companies including H.E.B. Grocery, International Multifoods and Furr’s Cafeterias. Where she worked in regulatory compliance, microbiology, manufacturing, product development and sanitation.
Happily married to Gary Rauser, her spouse of thirty years. They share a love of fishing, camping, hiking and travel. She also loves photography, scrapbooking and other artistic endeavors.
They have three sons: Cullen, Jonathon and Devin Rauser and a were legal guardians for Jered Neuman. Cullen lives in Bryan, Texas with his wife Taylor Jaynes Rauser. He is a registered nurse and Taylor is an elementary school teacher. They are expecting their first child in November. Jonathon Rauser resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife Taylor Marie Rauser. They both serve in branches of the armed forces. He is in the army and she serves in the air force. Devin Rauser is in his third year of study in the area of ocean engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station. While Jered, lives in Fort Worth and works in retail.
Carla Waldschmidt, Children’s Minister
Carla Waldschmidt comes to Cimarron Praise United Methodist after serving for years as the Children’s Minister at Hope Arise United Methodist Church. She is a native Texan who moved a lot as a child and graduated high school from MacArthur High School in San Antonio. She currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with her high school sweetheart husband of 24 years, Randy. They have one daughter, Heather, who is studying to earn her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Master’s in Athletic Training concurrently at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. They have two dogs, Jenna and Harley, and one bearded dragon named Bentley.
Carla earned her diploma from Baptist LVN school and worked as a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital for 3 and a half years, 2 and a half years at North Central Baptist. She left nursing in 2001 to work at a GI and Kidney doctor’s office until 2004 when she became a stay at home mom.
She supported her daughter throughout her schooling through being a stay at home mom while she discerned her call from the Lord. God lead her to volunteer in children’s Sunday school when her daughter was young while they were attending Bulverde United Methodist Church. When they moved to Hope Arise UMC she continued to volunteer in Sunday school and eventually took over the children’s program there. Since she has become a Parish Christian Educator through the United Methodist Church and has completed courses at Quarry Bible College.
Carla loves being creative, dancing, reading books, and working with kids. She is excited to have this new opportunity that the Lord brought to her and is ready to share God’s love and teach the kids of Cimarron Praise about Jesus.
